Introducing Anne Stockwell

Anne Stockwell is an author, editor, and innovator whose creative track record spans journalism, film, and activism. Originally from Louisiana, Anne began her career at Esquire magazine and later won a directing scholarship to NYU Graduate Film School, where she studied independently with Martin Scorsese and won directing awards from Sony Pictures, Warner Bros., and the Motion Picture Academy. In 1997, Anne wrote The Guerrilla Guide to Mastering Student Loan Debt (HarperCollins), a guidebook for students that exposed the inner workings of the student loan industry. As a journalist at the distinguished newsmagazine The Advocate, Anne spent 15 years at the forefront of the battle for LGBT civil rights, rising through the ranks to become Editor in Chief. A three-time ovarian cancer survivor, Anne now works to enrich lives with Well Again, a nonprofit that helps survivors release the past, rise to the future, and live the adventure of healing.
